With its extra large keys, this LightWRITER provides easy access for those with motoric or visual limitations. The keyboard is arranged alphabetically making it an ideal starter unit for youngsters learning to spell or for individuals who can't cope with the standard typewriter layout. The transparent heavy-duty keyguard and "raincoat" are standard.

The unit retains all the characteristics of the standard LightWRITER SL35 — speech output, message retrieval, abbreviation expansion, word prompting, etc. A speaker on top makes for easy listening to the speech output and the serial port may be used for other accessories.

The keys are are 3/4" (1.9 cm) square with a 1" (2.5 cm) spacing. At a weight of 8.5 pounds (3.9 kg), the SL35/BigKeys is intended for desktop use.
