The Optimist 3HD is a powerful augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) aid that is ideal for direct selection on its bright, all-light readable 8.4 inch touch screen or for scanning on its dynamic display. At just three pounds, the unit's light weight makes carrying easy by its convertible handle/deskstand. The audio amplifier/speaker module provides exceptionally loud, clear output. At its processing speed, message selection is really fast. All units have a 20 GB hard drive, built-in Bluetooth connectivitiy, and extended life batteries. |
Two USB ports are provided for connections to computer peripherals and switch jacks for access
by scanning. AAC software is pre-installed and fasteners for wheelchair mounting are built-in.

You can also turn the Optimist into an environmental control system by adding a GEWA Control Micro USB infrared transmitter which can be run directly from The Grid 2 or Tobii Communicator software. |

The Dialect 3HD is identical to the Optimist 3HD in every respect except that it will only
run the AAC software you choose. The Optimist is an integrated communication system, while the Dialect
meets the Medicare criteria as a dedicated speech generating device. |
