Every now and then a really unique product design comes along — Clio™ from Vadem™ is one of them. It opens like a laptop computer, has a display that can be positioned independently of the base, can fold flat so that the display is accessible like a tablet computer, and can stand up like an A-frame house. Wouldn't that be great for an augmentative/alternative communication (AAC) aid?

ZYGO has added even more versatility to the Clio by attaching a backpack module that contains an amplifier and large speaker for loud, clear sound output. We call it "ARTI." ARTI is ideal for direct selection on its large-screen dynamic display. The unit's light weight and attached handle make carrying easy and wheelchair mounting systems are available.

The touch screen color display is easily accessed with a pointer or finger. AAC software is available on memory cards or for downloading from a personal computer. The system comes with Windows CE 2.11 and a host of programs including handwriting recognition.

The major advantages are long battery life, instant on—the unit is always in standby, and significantly lower cost!
